I think the Detroit Tigers will win in 7 games. Right now they are on fire. They have the pitching, the defense and the attack. I'm not saying the Cardinals don't have any of those elements, but the Cardinals pitching just can't compete with Detroit's best. In the playoffs it comes down to one thing: pitching! Good luck to both teams!

Well I'm going against the grain and say the Cards will win.
This is where I was before Game 1 even.
Remember the Cards were leading the National League in wins until June when Mulder, Ponson, and mystery-pitcher-of-the-week went down, Pujols went down, and then Rolen went down.
Rolen appears to be back, and Edmonds isn't hacking at everything for once. The main holes are Encarncion and Wilson, who might as well start with 2 strikes on every at bat. They're getting good innings from Reyes and Weaver.
Supposedly the Cards were going to be battered by both th eMets and Padres. The Padres? COME ON!
I don't think the Tigers' pitching is that great. It is good, but outside of Sticky Rogers they don't have an ace-like guy.
This is an evenly matched series, as much as everyone belittles the Cards.
If nothing else, hooray the NY teams can cry all winter what a lousy series this will be - ya big babies.

Why is such a question being asked? The Detroit Tigers will win....no question about it. I played St. Louis three times already in the regular season--Detroit won all three. Granted, Detroit lost Game 1.....they are the better team out there. The Tigers look like (and are) the better team. Verlander did have a rough few innings, but otherwise.....they outplayed St. Louis. I know Detroit will win, and there's no reason why they shouldn't.

Must agree with everyone, the Tigers are going to win. So happy and exited to know who wins!! I like the Tigers just because they defeated the Yankees!!
