Try some of the peroxide compounds.
There's a stain used in micro-biology for staining the micro-bacteria, I think it's an iodine base solution.
Also consider compounds that burn a blue flame.

Actually, the compound CuSO4 or cupric sulfate is not really blue... that blue substance is actually Cupric sulfate pentahydrate or CuSO4*5H2O
