I work overseas and go home once in ayear for 45 days. I bought a new bike and I am enjoying. I am afraid if I park my bike in my garage for a whole year then I might get some mechanical problem in my bike when I drive in next year. I want to know what precusions I have to take for my bike.

You don't require a bike to use it only for 45 days in a year. Sell it off and buy a new one when you settle down permanently. Now a days the models keep changing and you will no more like your old bike when you settle down permanenetly.

after gong through some of the ans given to u for Ur question, i would like to say that just empty the petrol tank take off the mobil oil from the engine and pull out the batteries.(do not forget to put some wax on the points of the wire connected to batteries) park it on wooden plank and cover with a light coloured cloth as it keeps the colour protected because the dark cloth will absorb the heat and will affect the colour of the bike.... The main excersice starts when u come back and try to ride the bike. There are some points u need to remember, before u start the bike make sure tht the battery is connected and u hve removed the wax from the points of the wire connected to batteries now as there is no mobile oil the engine the engine wuld be dry so, if u know how to put mobil oil and how to tke it out then put some petrol in the engine and give some kiks (but not start)so tht the petrol can cleen the engine frm inside after tht tke out the petrol and then put mobil oil in the engine open the pulg and clean it up with the help of a wire or a pin but do not disturb the spark plug point, put itback inn put sme petrol in the bike tke the choke and give the kiks remember do not accellerate the bike while giving the kiks it will overflow and tht wld lead in troouble.... the bike will start up and u can enjoy ur ride...

Ensure that you perform the following:
1. Drain all fuel from the tank (to prevent from rusting).
2. Empty oil reservoir (kick a few times with ignition off, to ensure no oil remains).
3. Disconnect the battery, both +ve & -ve terminals.
4. Before all this, get the bike thoroughly cleaned.
5. Prefrably, apply some wax polish as an added protection coating.
6. Make sure that you cover the bike, prefrably with a dark coloured water-proof cover.

All this might sound like a pretty long process, but is actually a short and easy exercise.
Besides if you want your bike to stay in pristine shape, then its worth the effort.

Change the oil in the engine.
Add fuel stabilizer to the gas tank.
Start it up and let it run for 10 minutes.
Remove the battery and put a battery tender on it.
If you had any way of lifting the bike off the ground, it would keep the tire from getting flat spotted.

You may want to prepare your bike for storage. This would involve several aspects, and frankly, there're a lot of opinions as to what's good practice. Myself, I would drain the gas from your gas tank and coat the inside of the tank with oil to prevent rust from forming. Drain your carbs, or otherwise the gas remaining in there will evaporate and leave a coating of varnish to harden on the mechanisms in there. Put some oil in the cylinders through the spark plug holes and put the plugs back in, and crank the engine a few times to coat the pistons as well. Put the bike on blocks so the suspension isn't compressed. Place the battery on a trickle-charger that cycles the battery routinely. When you get back, get any oil out that you can (doesn't have to get all of it out) fill the tank back up with gas,put the battery back in, and start her up. It'll run really smoky for a while.

That used to be my routine. Now, I just ride it all year round. If you run a web search for "winterize motorcycle," you get many opinions.

You should "winterise" your bike. It doesn't have to be in the winter months. Whenever it's going to sit for more than a month.
