Get a large sheet of white card and place it so it sits on a curve, kinda like one side of a half pipe. Place your object on the card, and shine a light onto the object (You may want to try different angles to get the best shot) and then take your photo.

I take the photo of the item on a white back ground then take the image into photo shop or any picture editor, microsoft paint might do, and then put a perfect white background in in there. Easy.

Hi, I am having this problem too since yesterday and I'm basically on my wit's end. Basically, it's not just Facebook that is having this problem, also with mozilla site and other sites, they all have the same problem too. I tried every possible thing that I think will resolve this issue, tried every options available and tried almost every advice I can find but sad to say, no such thing worked! But I tried installing Opera Browser and tried to switched on to Opera Turbo, this worked for me, but the sad thing is the pictures seems to be blurred and the quality seems low. Anyhow, it made me use Facebook. Thank you for the tip! I hope sooner or later, this issue will be resolved.. UPDATE!! we have the same OS Running - Windows 7 Ultimate I activated my windows update then it gave me 2 important updates regarding .NET framework and the other one is Sytem Error Update for .NET framework after I rebooted my PC, my FB is back to normal :)

What we use in our company is 2 large sheets of white board, one on a level surface and the other on a lean upright. That does the job, it's a cheap way of doing it and effective.

Get a large piece of white cardstock and hang it sagging so it looks like a j (without the dot).
This will reduce the effect of shadows
