U left out George Best from the ex number 7's. At the end of it all it is only a shirt number. But if one had to choose a player worthy of carrying on the legacy then I would say leave the shirt vacant until the right player comes along. Nani is not worthy of it in my opinion. He is a great player, but if we are to take the shirt issue seriously he doesn't fit in with the great names to wear it prior. Fair enough giving it to Owen though as he is still a historic player, even though he wasn't one in the United shirt.

If he did he didnt deserve it. The only person that should be allowed to wear that number is Ronaldinho. The best player in the world. David Beckham has never owned up to that title and never will.
