You can tell by the fact that you got your message in the bulk folder that it is spam.
Any mail that is not directly addressed to you is put in your bulk folder. For example, if your email name is hello@myisp.com, then any mail sent to your e-mail address WITHOUT that name is put in your bulk folder. Look at the 'To:' field of your e-mail. You will see that the name there doesn't match yours.
If the message was real, then the message would be in your In box because Yahoo! knows your e-mail name.
Also, Yahoo! does not hold contests or give-aways without advertising them. Of course, for all we know, YOUR question here could be spam.....Why did you provide the link?

sounds like crap to me. if yahoo was giving away money then it would be in the news and I havent heard anything about it. I would think that it would also be posted on their homepage somewhere. dont give out your information. You could contact Yahoo and ask them about it also just to make sure. Here's the link to where you can find the number: http://yhoo.client.shareholder.com/press/contact.cfm
and here is the number I think you should call:
Yahoo! Media Relations hotline at 415-345-4793
Good Luck!

These are business scams. I don't know if they actually pay up the $500. or give you the new laptop or whatever else they offer or not but I would bet the end letter says you might be picked. In any case, they have managed to get you to give them your address and phone number and email address and who knows what else? Better to avoid them.

Yahoo knows about this and knows who sends them. They will not do anything to stop him because it give the publicity. It a bogus. Please do some research as Snopes.com, Hoax Busters.com and others.

I'm almost 99% sure it's a joke, but not completely positive. I think it is a joke, though.
