not meaning to preach, but is woman's rights gave them the right to violate other human being's right to live? i was trying to make people think about abortion and how feminism encouraged it. the right to vote, and right to education is fine, but how far will feminism go?

It caused men to not feel empathy for us.
It caused people to not show as much respect for us.
It caused people to expect us to pull our own weight even when we can't.

Lots of ways - female suffrage (the right to vote) equal pay, equal right to education etc. We might scoff at the idea of feminism now, but if our mothers and grandmothers (and great grandmothers) hadn't fought for it, we wouldn't be living the lives we do now - how would you feel if your brother was allowed to use the computer but not you? if you were cleverer than your brother but you weren't allowed to go on to further education? If you then had to take a poorly paid job but realised your male co-worker was paid more just because he is male?
Of course there is still inequality now, and feminism has take some wrong turns (I can't bear the holding-doors open debate and the like - as if its a crime to be polite). But we should all be thankful overall for the feminist movement - including men!

I'm not sure that feminism has changed the world, it has changed how we see the world, and given a focus to many changes that have happened and are happening.
The current uproar about Muslim veils could not have happened 120 years ago in the west, where women's clothing restrictions were often strictly adhered to.
There are still such things as wife beating (and uxoricide), sexual discrimination (works both ways) and other things that feminists object to.
Assisted abortion has been around since prehistoric times, it also happens naturally.

It changed the Western world, yes. I don't think it changed Africa, South America or Asia too much. In China and Russia the position of women changed a lot with the help of Communism. I don't think we can credit feminism for that.
In the Western world it has brought lots of freedom to women, but there is also a danger that some females lose their feminity too much. I believe one of the results of that is the great shortage of births in Europe.

it gave the women in the US the right to vote
I think it goes overboard at times, but every movement does
it's a good thing overall, in moderation of course

it means we can live our lives as equals, and work better jobs, earn better money and be independant. I look after myself now, I pay my own way, I pay my own rent and bills, so I know that I will never have to rely on a man (or anyone else) to look after me int he future.

I think in some ways it made women free. Everyone should be treated equally, no matter what race or sex.
