Has anyone got (can anyone give) simple instructions for threading a singer 7101 sewing machine... I simply can not the it right, and the thread tensins all wrong so I keep breaking thread. Also.... if you have one of these machines, does the foot pedal work ? or are they all like the one I have... I.e off, or full power only.... with nothing in between.

This in the only link I've found (so far) to free Singer instruction manuels. http://www.singermachines.co.uk/Parts_&_Ser/indstbooks.htm
It's based out of the UK. There may be a manuel in there that's close enough to what you've got to give you some visual instructions (threading & tension).
If I find anything else I post it. Good luck.

Didn't find anything more specific. That website lists some replacement parts for your model, so they may be able to tell you which (if any) of the instructions manuels apply to your machine and hopefully answers your other questions as well.
The two Singers I have (20 & 35 years old) are home use models and have variable speed foot pedals.

Singer usually has threading instructions located directly on the machine... or maybe in the case... as far as the thread tension there should be some knobs you can try turning you have to test it with scrap fabric to get it how you want it.... and the foot pedal thing i have a Brother machine but I've used Singer and I've never had a problem with one... make sure it plugged into the machine all the way and try pressing it either harder or not as hard depending on what your doing now
