I've been married for 27 years and I do think resentment after so many years comes into a relationship. When you have been with someone so many years you know everything about that person. And sometimes the flaws or rather the things that are the most annoying, can intensify after so many years. I don't know how to overcome it, I'm trying now. Sometimes when things are tense I will ask my husband not to be angry at me for something that is beyond my control and usually he realizes he is being grouchy. If you find an answer that works for you, share it with me. :) One thing I do know you can't look to your partner for your happiness, you have to make your own. Just try to stay positive and the things you can't control just try to ignore as much as possible.

1. Deal with it.
2. Get over it.
3. Move on!!!

Good luck. :)

Ofcourse. As thinking beings we tend to over analyze everything. But if the relationship is on the rocks or you two are fighting then there is a level of resentment. People always think the grass is greener somewhere els and when times aren't good they start thinking about what if I didn't marry you and such. Overcome it? Well not much to it just don't think about it. Ok that answer sucked. I'm not sure how to completely overcome it but time heals everything....
