Hopefully, non Americans can answer this.

Does familiarity breed contempt? Or is it just that weve run out of ideas, and once that happens, people start to get bored with you after awhile. The Japanese used to use Western actors and musicians to be spokesmen for their products, and it was considered stylish, but now they like using other Asian stars. Does this and other things signal the fall of Western Civilization? I think its a very telling sign.

I know alot of people are fed up with America because of its policies, but something tells me its not just the policies anymore, its us. Our music and films are becoming more similar to the world and the world is becoming closer to us, and we meet in the mediocre middle. So theres not much separation anymore.

We dropped a freakin atomic bomb on Japan and 30-40 years later they practically worshipped Americans, pretty remarkable.

When American "culture" seems to be revolving around "reality" TV and whatever Paris Hilton and Twitney Spheres are doing, I would have to hope that people are less interested in it.

You may have answered your own question.

For many years the Japanese took on many aspects of American life, including the use of American personalities for their own TV ads. Now they are re-exploring their own cultural heritage, which I feel displays the hallmarks of a healthier society. It's noticeable that this culture is now having an impact on American culture, all the way from Pokemon to films such as The Ring and Crouching Tiger.

I note that you seem to consider "american culture" and "western civilization" as being the same. As a Brit and a European I frankly find that offensive and patronising. And it is also probably part of the answer to your question as, for years, we have been force fed a diet of all things American on the assumption that this is better; for example, the wonderful French film "A Bout do Souffle" became "Breathless" and was sent out to an unsuspecting world. Many countries are now reacting to that cultural hegemony, and I feel we are all the richer for it.

*deletes my very last answer, sorry* No it is replacing somewhat. My historic previous type (it replaced right into a international historic previous route, no longer African certain historic previous) very last year had a section about African historic previous from the Kingdoms of Ghana, Songhai, Mali and South African Zulus and Punt and Ethiopia. My professor suggested African historic previous is being encorportated in now for the first time, notwithstanding it previosuly wasn't because of u . s . a . of america's previous and racism. Theres also the Empire of Zimbabwe and others. Africa is a huge continent with the most languages in the international! So theres only lots of stuff to study about the numerous cultures and folk. Even the tribal human beings comprehend their historic previous by ability of music and memorization. it is the reason extra human beings opt to flow to school notwithstanding.

What is an "American culture"?

Do this. Call an Asian, a White guy, a Black guy, a Latino, and call them the "The New State", and ask them what their culture is. I bet each guy will give you a different culture than the other guy. THAT IS WHAT AMERICAN CULTURE IS. If you are talking about a Western culture, well it is a regional culture. Not just American.

Yeah, I'd agree. I think in general Americans are retards, and going by the answers you give, you are particularly American in that respect.
