I live in Southern California another Mediterranean climate zone. i have been growing peas and lettuce, spinich right now. I have just harvested carrots and have planted more of those. Beet, turnips and onions are good right now. What are they growing and selling at he local farmers markets. That alwys give you a good idea of wht to plan in the back yard garden.

We live in Australia and have a Mediterranean climate in a very dry region of rural Australia. Now is the time for planting all the things you asked about - summer in other words. The only web site I can think of is our gardening Australia.com.au.

Dunno how much colder Portugal is from California, but there are many vegetables that grow well in Northern Europe that *only* grow here in the winter. Do you get frost?

Plant everything as soon as you can, because our hot summer will slow things down considerably, and plants that take & love a long hot summer like watermelon, tobacco, and sweet potato will appreciate the extra sun time.
