Prison tat's are often of a gang theme or symbol. Usually all black ink or sometimes very odd colors due to no supply of regular ta too inks. Some are crude, rough tattoo's done completely free hand yet some are extraordinary. The only one who really knows if it's a prison tat is the bearer. Ask if you dare.

Well in England though the 60,70,80 the tattoo find on most ex prisoners was a Swallow on the hand or lower arm showing that this person had done time or bird (in a cage.)
But now some people just think it looks good!
