Who else is sick of it? What (if anything) can we do to help ease it? Ideas anyone?

Regarding my last question I think that everyone will eventually have the same color skin. I believe that racism will cure itself. In the future everyone is going to eventually be a mix of something whether it is black and latino, white and asian, vice versa, etc... But for now I don't think we can do anything about it.

I wish I had an answer for this. I see everyone as a person. (Thats what we are!) I think to myself, anytime racism is in the news, or starts boiling in my head, that we all bleed the same, we all have the same feelings...regardless of skin. Skin is nothing, it is just the surface, and how many times must we look past the surface to find reality? I hate racism! I hate all angles of it, I hate it and wish that the world could see through all different shades of color and find, the world isn't so different as another race. AND, I have been a victim of racism as well, even being "white" which is not a race, as "black" is not a race either! I don't have any new ideas to add, but I just wanted to say I hate it. This is so cliche, but I wish we could all just get along!!!

Racism has been going on for a long time, I am more than tired of it, but what's a girl to do??? You can complain to the police, your congressman , but it is only going to be taken as a complaint and used for statistical purposes only which means nothing is really going to be done about ....Sad isn't it If their was anything that could be done about it, it would have happened long ago

I dont think it can really be changed since it is a way of life and opinions of people. I would want people to not only know the difference but also know more of what they are saying rather than assuming.

As a Mexican, I hate how everyone blames us for A LOT! Yet there are other races that do worse. I also hate how every spanish speaker is labeled as Mexican when they are not, just like when people say "they look Mexican?!" <---we do come in all colors, sizes & shapes

Hi

I actually live in south Africa and we here it every were, most of the jobs are AA (affirmative action) and you always here about the apartheid years and blah blah blah....
Well i can tell you, that before all of this crap (when the right person was given the job and not because of his/her colour) there was allot less crime.

I say take it all away, give ever one equal rights, whats good for one is good for the other. Doesn't matter if your blue, white, pink, green or black.

I can't stand racism. It's all born of fear of our inherent differences instead of celebrating these differences. The way to stop it is by teaching the children to accept people for who they are, Unfortunately I really don't see that happening any time soon.

You can't change everyone's opinion, where it's simple minded or uneducated, or racist..but one thing I immediately do is confront it. So many people say one thing, then get called a racist, and contradict themselves; if they don't shut down insults, slurs, or profiling, and even stereotyping. If someone tells you a racist joke, let them know you find it offensive, and risk, the shuns and consequences for your convictions about that issue. If you're children view/hear it, explain how it's offensive, and belittling, and how it affects others when having those judgments.

I think the bigger issue is lack of confidence, peer pressure, leadership, and individualism, that leads to prejudices.. if we all weren't so darn scared of what we said, and how others would view us, we'd likely feel more empowered to express how we TRULY feel about people.

Its an age old phenomena. Some races inherit this ideology, perhaps character had deeply fixed in gene pool.
Interracial family bond will fade this ,but take time.

THERE IS NOTHING THAT CAN EASE RACICM, PEOPLE TEACH IT TO THIER YOUNG CHILDREN AND THEY GROW UP WITH THAT HATRED IN THEM.....THE ONLY THING THAT WILL SLOW DOWN THE RACE RACE IS TO MELT US ALL TOGETHER, HAVE KIDS WITH ANOTHER RACE..ITS BEEN DONE FOR YEARS....AFTER ALL, NONE OF US ARE REALLY PURE ANYTHING ANYMORE...ESPECIALLY WHITES AND BLACKS..
