I saw a documentary a long time ago about the one child rule in China and it was so horrific. Considering, there is a one child rule there most couples don't want a girl, therefore they give them up for adoption. That is where it gets sad, as they become a ward of the country, and these homes are so terrible. A journalist snuck this film out, which is unbelievable in its self. If a child was badly handicapped or had a disease they were put in a room by themselves until they starved to death. You could hear the child screaming and the journalist was not aloud to go in to that particular room, but he was told that was what was going on. Of course this is not something we ever hear about due to China being a communist country. The other children were hardly taken care of either, just a really sad thing. People who say, "why would someone go to another country and adopt when we have kids here who need a home", well our children are not treated this way.

Yes, the one child rule is still in effect.
Unless you are out in the rural areas, where legally people are still allowed to have a maximum of 2 kids.

yes there is a one child rule in china
and there is also not enough water in china to last more than another 30 years. I wonder if they'll want to invade another country for their water? Their army is certainly large enough they should have a no child rule, sad, but they already have billions upon billions of people to feed and water

Yes, China passed the one child law to save it's economy, it's anti-human but did wonders to the economy.

50 years ago they did that to severely disabled babies in North America as well.
the one child rule is only applicable in cities, since farmers need free labour in their fields.

all the billboards in china advertise ideally that each family only have one child. If they have more, chinky gov. frowns upon it and takes money out of papa bears salary
