I live approx. 100 miles east of Amarillo on I-40. I prefer Amarillo over Oklahoma City because Amarillo has all the conveniences of a large city with a small town atmosphere. It is also easier to drive in Amarillo. Due to traffic not being as congested. I personally think Amarillo is great town followed closely to Lubbock,Texas.Which is also a great place. The people are for the most part nice and friendly.

Amarillo will be what you make it. It is totally up to you.

I grew up as a military brat, then spent 12 yrs on active duty and then had jobs that required frequent moves. I never liked being told about the town or city I was moving to. I always liked it to be a discovery process. I felt that gave me better appreciation of what the town had to offer.

Look at as an Adventure. New discoveries, new friends, new experiences. GOD I LOVE THE SMELL OF MOVING VANS IN THE MORNING!

If you are relocating to Texas, check with the insurance companies regarding home ownership. Because of the bad weather and recent storm conditions in certain areas of Texas, the insurance rates might be high.

A community that has a vibrant economy also has a vibrant real estate. Many times the value of home ownership will depict the local economy.

On your opening page there is a site that says Real Estate. Click onto it and browse around and compare real estate values to other areas of the country you may want to visit/live.
