it feels bad sometimes . . .

Most of the time it doesn't matter to me, but sometimes it makes me feel bad, when I thought I had a really good answer and no one else thought it was, but I am not going to lose sleep over the fact that some people just don't get what I am trying to say or that some people are just mean and gives everyone a thumbs down. I don't give thumbs down very often, because I am not mean like that and when I give them, there usually is a good reason why.

Don't mean nothing,if you are a democrat and ask or answer a political question all the conservatives will give you a thumbs down,if you are a republican with the same answer or question all the liberals will give you a thumbs down,it just depends how many of a certain group happen to be on that question at the time, the mind set of most have already been decided,no matter how good your question or answer is,their decision have already been made.

I always check to see how people rate my answers (I'm a loser, I know), and it pisses me off when I give a good answer and someone gives me a thumbs down for no reason. I can understand if it's a question that deal with conflicting viewpoints, because then it's likely that someone disagrees with what I wrote, but if it's a question like "Who was the first U.S. president?" and I put "George Washington" then that doesn't deserve a thumbs down.

Get what I mean?

It doesn't really matter.
However, I don't like it when someone asks a question, like about a TV show or something you haven't thought about for awhile and you can tell people are having fun remembering and mentioning similar things, then you get some jerk with negative remarks and tries to spoil it.
It is not necessary to answer all questions.

Doesn't matter to me but isn't that a vote pro or con?

Sensitive topics seem to draw more votes one way or the other.
