Is ha-sehufim a name or what? I find this in my book. It is a Chinese story. It was translated into Hebrew. And this word appears in the title of the book.

I don't know such word in Hebrew, and Hebrew is my native tongue...
"Ha-" means "the", and the suffix "-im" means that this adjective/ noun is in its plural male form.
The closest word I can think of is "HaZehuvim", which means "the golden ones"...
Was this title written in Hebrew, or Latin Letters? If it was written in Hebrew, could you possibly spell this word? A context would help too.

Oh, I know what you mean... This book is called החיים הסחופים, HaChayim HaSchufim.
Sakhuf (סחוף) is an adjective means "swept away", or "carried away (by wind, or water)", so the title means "the swept away life".
It comes from the root S.CH.F, that brings out words such as: to wash away, to erode, to enrapture, erosion... When formed into the participle pattern "Pa'ul" (Sakhuf), it means swept away (by a current).

This jogs my memory of a tale from Belgium on the finish of WWII. (Wait, I'll tie it in right here). The book title is ha-Hayim ha-sehufim, the author is called shen fu, maybe the book is called " This life of Shen fu"?
