The US pullout could have spell a bad decision and South Korea is now part of the communist sphere. South Korea is better off in economy than its northern neighbor where people are languishing in poverty but its government is prioritizing its nuclear arms build-up.

I have a feeling that South Koreans would be horrified by the idea of living in conditions remotely similar to those in North Korea. The result was favorable for the US and South Korea, so who, besides North Korea, would argue that Communists should have been left to take over the country?

Yes the Truman docrtine was a horrible idea.

How do you know a doctrine is a bad idea? It has a U.S. president's name in front of it.
