I read the question earlier about their older baby and I was wondering if at 10 months she bangs my head on my forehead and moves it a lot, when shes trying to sleep or what not, and then when shes trying to crawl too. Sometimes she rams her forehead right into my forehead kind of hard.
She does this everyday at least 5 or 6 times. It HURTS.
I wonder if it is just normal or what I should do?

In answer to a question she does this maybe once or twice.
I think sometimes it is when she is trying to move.

I have heard that this is fairly normal, my son didn't do it, but he had his own peculiar behavior as any child does, at any age.

But to answer your question fully here is an online source that I use when in a parenting crunch, this link will take you to a direct search on the subject at hand:

Best of luck, and keep extra asprin around the house for yourself!

Hi. I've got 2 yr old boy/girl twins and an infant son. My son from the twin set does this too. He bangs his head on the floor, on the wall, on the table. I've never seen him bang his head when he is excited, just mad and he screams and throws things too (which I'm working on). He has a very bad temper and can't deal well with rejection or being patient. When he gets too excited, he grits his teeth and shakes. Lol. I believe your son's behavior is normal. Some kids don't know how to handle strong emotions or don't know how else to get attention. Just ignore him when he does this. He won't knock his brains out. Just make sure there isn't anything that could hurt him around (blocks, toys with pointed edges, sippy cups etc.) or kids and pets that he could hurt before you ignore him. :)

Try getting her ears checked. My cousins son would bang his head on the floor or wall alot. Come to find out that he had alot of fluid in his ears and he was hurting, he also had alot of earaches.

Well I guess the other people that answered thought that this was pretty serious, but I don't think it is...
I remember my baby brother doing that to me, and I'm pretty sure he just did it for fun, and he's fine and healthy now.

That could be the sign of a serious problem ... have your baby checked out soon by a pediatrician.

I also read in some books that it is normal. They just started to find the rhythms and find ways to calm themselves. Here is a link also. Good luck. http://www.drgreene.com/21_61.html

Does she just do it once, or does she do it over and over in a row? Sounds like she may just be playing, but look at her eyes when she does it - see if she's "all there."
