Help! Why doesn't my betta want to eat? It hasn't eaten in 5 days?

I have fed it Hikari Bio-Gold pellets ever since I've gotten him back in September. Suddenly last week it started refusing to eat the pellets, even though I did not change its diet at ALL.

It does not appear sick. It looks pretty healthy with its vibrant skin color, and he is active as a healthy betta should be. The water is clean, the temperature is fine, and he randomly made a bubble nest yesterday even though he hasn't eaten at all!

Can someone help me out before it starves to death?

How long do I have before it will die..?

Is there a female beta with him? Male beta's build the nest for the babies that are coming and transport the babies to that new nest and guard the babies for a while to look after them. Make sure to not to continue to feed him too much because bacterial could start to build up. Male beta's also have to protect the babies from the mother because mothers eat their babies. When the bubble nest is done you will know because it won't get any bigger, then he will eat again.
Has there been the presence of a female in that tank? I am really curious. I am pretty sure he will be fine.

My betta is the same. I only feed him every 2-3 days and he rarely eats even at those times. Maybe your betta is eating when you are not noticing....they tend to stir up the bowl and eat the food that has settled at the bottom.

I have a betta as well and it doesnt eat a lot at all. He eats maybe every now and then and even during those times it isnt a lot. he kidna nibbles at it and then doesnt finish the pellet. i have tired to switch to the flakes but he doesnt seem to like them either. i hope mine doesnt die.

how do you know his not eating?you dont watch him every second of the day do you?

unless he is sick already he will eat.
