Well, assuming you weren't just burning them for the fun of it, look for irregularly bald areas on the tire. spots where it has worn more than the rest of the tire, if you find this it may be a break issue. If not, you may want to check your drivetrain. Other than that, lay off the gas. :) Also, it may not be the tire. It could be a belt, look under the hood, sniff around, and feel for any worn areas on your belts, then invest in belt dressing.

This usually happens when your brake pads or leathers start to jam because of wet road conditions jamming brake springs or hydraulic pipes. You should get your brake line checked and oil replaced if very old.

sounds like the caliper was stuck and you were driving with that wheel braked. that causes alot of friction=heat.

sounds like you left your emergency brake on..or its your brakes
