How many of you sucked your thumb and was told not to? How many did anyway, and became good at hiding it?

Was taht the first time you lied, deceived, ..whatever you want to call it..was that the "begining" of telling a lie to do or get what you want, because the majority of the time your under no suspicion. Can anyone think of an earlier first time they lied? Looking for general experiences that many of us could relate to.

I am amused.I am reminded of the following .

A man always left the toothpaste cover open, after brushing and his wife always chidded him for that. One day, after brushing the man remembered and decided to close the tube.

Later , when the wife went upto the bathroom and found that the toothpaste tube was closed with cover, she promptly came down and asked him " Why did you NOT brush your teeth?"

This is the story of the thumb.Very few children suck their thumb and the habit goes away soon. In our part of the world thumb sucking is associated with the mother weaning the child away from breast feed earlier than necessary due to the next child being born so soon after the first one. The innovative child looks for an emotional fall back... thumb.

What could be the other reasons for thumb sucking?

. I did not suck my thumb,my sister did and it was not a secret to her family. I think there is a difference in a lie and a secret.
A lie can also be a deception, told by someone in order that something that was not ever their business, can remain just that, at the same time, satisfying their own delusion. What does it really matter, the lie, why lie anyway. No one is to expect anything from anyone, and if life is all an illusion, then, the lie just adds character, or adds to the confusion. I myself am one that did not care much for a lie. Seems a waste of time, but time is not ours, it's borrowed, so, again, who should concern themselves.
To answer you, my first known lie was to my mother and father when I once said I was too ill to go to school. After that, there have been a few, not worth mentioning. Like I said;"why lie"???

Yes i used to suck my Thumb and this was the first time i started to learn hiding and later on i did become good at it. And thanks a lot for bringing back and making my childhood memories flash my mind once again.
