ok i work with this guy and he gave me his number today..he doesn't work tomorrow but he wants me to call him around my lunchtime so we can hang out..our lunch is only for like 30 mins..what would be the point of this? i don't know why he would go out of his way for only 30 mins..what do you think? do you think it's a date???

30 minutes is not a lot of time. Sounds weird to me, even if he does really like you. I say, tell him you'd rather meet him when you both have the day off.
