Just out of curiousity, would you give away your pet that you have had for however many years or give up the new love of your life? Or try to get them to get a long?

I don't have to think of what I would do, I already know what I do. I have this problem right now. I'm married, and my husband and I have 2 cats, we got our first about a year ago, great cat. Well we have been trying for a baby and we both agreed that our first cat would like to have afriend to play with since there would be a baby in the house. We well got our second cat and my husband ABSOLUTELY HATES her. Can't stand the cat, tells me all the time he will let me have 2 more if I get rid of her. And I wont, she is my baby girl, I'm very attached to her. And what we do is, they don't hang out with each other, and I don't push them to like one another, she can't stand him either. I feed her and take care of her and he just doesn't pay attention to her. It seems to work for us. And I wouldn't give up a life long pet for a new love, because the new love will possibly leave, but the pet will always be there to love you and be your best friend.

It would appear that you had your pet when your partner met you.
What else about you are you going to have to change for this person?
Lose the new partner - the pet will love you forever regardless

tell your partner, to get over it. your pet is like family, and u will not give it away. ask your partner if he / she would give one of their family members away just because they don't like them. you should have some back bone, let your partner know it package deal my animals come with me. good luck. i have a dog, i would give her up for nobody or anything.

GET RID OF THE PET AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. It may ruin your live forever,to keep this pet.

I wouldn't give up my pet and I wouldn't expect someone else to give up theirs. Learn to get along or at least tolerate it.

I dont like my partner's pet and he doesnt like mine. He actually hates mine...LOL. We just deal with.
