Benitez has lost control and has made such a big deal about swapping and changing his side, that he now feels if he changes tactics it will be seen as a weakness and he will be finished. He already is finished, unless he gets a miracle.

Crouch is not the be all and end all of Liverpool FC, or indeed England - but he's one of the most in form strikers in the game at the moment and to leave him out of the side is folly.

What they should be doing with crouch is sorting out his balance, posture, core strength and power output, because if he continues to be allowed to just gangle about (that's a technical term), he's going to pick up some very nasty injuries as he goes into his mid twenties.

I really don't think it would have mattered who had started for the scousers yesterday, United are bang in form at the moment. Benitez had a frighteningly good squad at the end of last season, but has badly upset the balance of it with his continued tinkering. Bellamy was a good buy, but he's overdone it with some of his other signings.

Gerrard is keeping schtum about it all because he knows he'll keep the fans' support that way and that Benitez will be long gone from Anfield before he hangs his boots up.

If Liverpoo can only raise the expectation level to the potential in Peter Crouch, they are never going to be a serious candidate for the Premiership - he's good, but not that good. Just like the manager and half his team mates.

It must be because he believes that the other strikers can do a better job for the team, against the opposition Liverpool are up against. Peter Crouch is no Thierry Henry, he is not the guy who you should build your team around, he will not score 25+ goals in a season and he is not the sort of player to play in a game of short passing and movement. Do not get me wrong, he is a good player, at what he does, which we all know is largely heading, hold-up play and he's not too bad at striking it. Against Man Utd, Luis Garcia was the player to play for the tactics Rafa wanted to play. That is why he did not start against Man Utd, but no doubt he'll start the next game, such is Rafa's style!

Good question in fact so good i was going to ask it. Well i'm a man u fan so i was glad that he didn't choose crouch. He's their 2nd best player, after Gerrard. I'm beginning to think Benitiz fancies Kuyt since he hardly ever drops him. He wasn't even fully fit. I think Benitiz is a idiot & Crouch is a good player.

yes , i can tell you. its very simple.
if u have observed many of the star players r kept as sub. and then enters the player in the dying seconds. ( av ery good example is sometimes Ronaldinho and Ruud Van Nistelrooy, Svechenko etc.) they lift the teams score but if they play from the beginning then their morale will go low and they become tired soon.

Does anyone EVER understand why footie managers make the decisions they do?!? My theory is if they did what all the rest of us thought they should do (ie the sensible thing) then they would lose their mystique and people would realise that ANYONE could do the job. And then they wouldn't get such high salaries - ha ha!

As a Man Utd fan glad he didn't because think he would of converted the header missed by their other striker shortly before our goal.

Crouch is a gangly, awkward muppet, and not as good as everyone makes out.
