OK... my husband has never giving me anything for the past 5 years, men are not like women they do have a heart but women have a giving heart, to me i say men say to themselves i give what i can and they have No idea what to give you for your birthday anniversary and stuff like that. the best thing i could tell you to give your husband is a card and special hot day with the kids away and maybe a dinner for 2 just to let him know he is someone special in your heart and to tell him thank you for still being here .

An Anniversary is important, especially the very first one. The first year of marriage, is usually the hardest one to get through. You are still adjusting and getting to know each other. To show your husband appreciation for his love, buy him something special. It doesn't have to be expensive, but something he really wants, or buy him tickets to see some game were he can spend time with his friends. Or you can have a small barbecue at your house, and invite a few of his friends over. What ever it is, he will like it, because it is from you. But not giving him a gift, may make him think that maybe he is not special enough to you.

Gifts does not show real love, but cooking him the real dish that he loves, will be a wonderful gift from the wife to the husband for the anniversary. Rather than choosing a restaurant or a hotel for dinner, decorate your kitchen or some special place in the house, where you and your husband can enjoy a romantic moment during the anniversary celebration.

Well there is no law saying you have to do anything but it's nice to give to the one you love and receive something from the one you love. There is a list of traditional and modern anniversary gifts. The traditional first year gift is something made of paper.

There are no rule that you have to. You two can just celebrate together instead. Maybe a weekend get away as an anniversary gift for one another. Believe me men hate shopping for woman so don't expect much from your husband. I went all out on my frist yr anniversity. I bought my husband a Tiffany &CO necklace, and a money clip with his initals on it. What do I get in return? A last min card. He scared me for life. I no longer care for anniversity. It's sad but true.

Only if you want to do so. I gave my husband a full foot and body massage on our one year anniversary with a card that said, "One year down. Forever to go."

You should make it real personal like a picture of your wedding and have it placed on something. They do that kind of thing in the mall and you should also get a gift just for him like a watch or his favorite after shave. Good luck.

It doesn't have to be a gift... you could surprise him with a very special dinner, followed by dessert in bed.... the idea is to show him how much you love him, it needn't cost a lot.

I'd have to agree... Yes, you should give your hubby a gift celebrating your first year married.
