I think it's because he had a great economy. My friends agree. Republicans should take notes on Bill Clinton.

"My colleagues and I have been very appreciative of your [President Clinton's] support of the Fed over the years, and your commitment to fiscal discipline has been instrumental in achieving what in a few weeks will be the longest economic expansion in the nation's history."
Alan Greenspan,
Federal Reserve Board Chairman,
January 4, 2000, at Chairman Greenspan's re-nomination announcement

"The deficit has come down, and I give the Clinton Administration and President Clinton himself a lot of credit for that. [He] did something about it, fast. And I think we are seeing some benefits."
Paul Volcker,
Federal Reserve Board Chairman (1979-1987),
in Audacity, Fall, 1994

One of the reasons Goldman Sachs cites for the "best economy ever" is that "on the policy side, trade, fiscal, and monetary policies have been excellent, working in ways that have facilitated growth without inflation. The Clinton Administration has worked to liberalize trade and has used any revenue windfalls to reduce the federal budget deficit."
Goldman Sachs, March, 1998
"Clinton's 1993 budget cuts, which reduced projected red ink by more than $400 billion over five years, sparked a major drop in interest rates that helped boost investment in all the equipment and systems that brought forth the New Age economy of technological innovation and rising productivity."
Business Week, May 19, 1997

Bill Clinton was an embarassment to the presidency. He completely ignored the terrorist problem, sold missle secrets to North Korea, numerous scandels, lied under oath then got impeached. He didn't even have the decency to resign & spare that nation. I had thought Nixon was the worst until Clinton came along. Amazing he can even seriously speak in public after everything he's put the US thru. History will remeber him as one of the worst presidents ever,

he is the greatest president because he was an average person.
born poor, raised in a single parent home for the most and went
far beyond expectations. he made mistakes, got caught, picked
himself up and went on with life like we all would have done. oh and by the way the economy was much better, jobs were abundant, we had a peace of mind that we would live to see another day. his ability to communicate with our allies and enemies did'nt hurt either. yeah clinton!!!!!!!

A few weeks back, the Clinton Admin was attacted for doing nothing and having no plan for bin laden and other terror issues. This MSNBC clip would have you believe otherwise, What a mess on count of the Bush admin.

He was the best in our time because this was a period when we felt proud to be Americans, were actually excited to vote and watch the news. We felt that government actually cared for people for once...it was just a good feeling in general.

That sure is some dream world you live in.
I seldom hear a Republican mention him, but the democrats just can't get past him. The Clintons and the Kennedys, why won't you let us forget them?

Well, he was a hell of a lot better than what we have now.... and better than what came just before him....

Reagan was one of the worst.... he didn't like having such a high unemployment rate on his term so he simply changed the way they measure unemployment.... now they only count people who were laid off and now recieve a government check..... changing his 20 percent into 4 with the stroke of a pen.... real genius!

I don't know about the greatest though.... I think I will save that Title for the future....
