Unless your hard drive went up in flames or was submerged in
salt water for a couple of years, you can get most if not all your
data back! The "How" depends on how you lost it. Are you talking about a system crash? Was it stolen?

Not very descriptive are you!

If your hard disk crashed due to wear and tear, try sticking it in a waterproof bag, and then put it in the freezer for an hour. I swear this often will give you about 25 minutes of data saving time before it dies again. Then repeat. Unless your drive was smokeing, chances are that no matter what you did mr/mrs/miss non-descriptive, you can get your data back, and if you can't a professional sure can.
