If you just vote by party only, or if you just like his commercials, is that worse than not voting at all, in your opinion?

I agree 100%
There was a time that people took their civic duty seriously in this country. They were up on the issues, understood the consequences of our foreign policy and elected intellgient, articulate candidates that made America strong.
Those days are behind us. The only voting we care about now is American Idol.
We beleive we can catch tid bits on Fox News or the local insipi-news cast and learn all we need to know to cast an educated ballot. It makes me want to vomit.

Well, if you like the comercials, then you must like the candidate's message. Voting is always a dangerous thing to do, even more so if you fail to examine the candidates.
Straight ticket voting is the worst offense. Vote for the most qualified person, not some label.
Do you really think it will matter if your mayor is Republican or Democrat? Not really, he won't be able to outlaw abortion, or change gun control policy or increase the ammount spent on national defense.
Voting is vital yet we are lucky to have a turn out of 40% and that is with dead voters of Chicago.

It is a sin not to vote. Men and women have shed their blood for the right to vote. You must try to get all the info you can on the issues and candidates and exercise you right.

I disagree. Most people who complain about the government or the taxes coming out of their checks have never even seen the inside of a voting booth. The first person may be uneducated, but at least they're doing it and being an example to their neighbors and children, or even parents. You may not agree with how a person votes, but it does not make their vote any less important.

I would totally agree. If you have even one uneducated vote that means you took the time to vote for everything else. I agree!

I agree. People who vote strictly along party lines are witless drones incapable of original thought. Their political ideals are nothing but regurgitated drivel. Just look at half of the dolts spouting off on Yahoo (Reps and Dems alike).

No, I think it should be mandatory that we all get out and vote.
Absentee ballots can go to overseas military and those that are confirmed bed-ridden.
As the majority of the population has an opinion that they have fully thought about (other than the majority of the first time voters)
I would bet that the winner would actually be the rightfull winner!

Disagree about voting party only. If you vote for a Dem for President, you can't fill the House and Senate with Rep. Nothing will get done.

Uneducated voting is dangerous to all of us. Dem and Rep.
I remember a couple of sectors of people voted for Bill Clinton because he was....Better looking . .. Younger than his opponent.. .Was charming ... .etc. etc. My own mother was fooled the first time. after a rational conversation and some time she realized what a huge error that was. She was fooled by the 'he's so much younger and handsome campaign. And so were many others.
