R is for reduced. As Wagon is a big car and WagonR is a small. Its just commonsense.

Nothing really. It was a take against Jeep Wagoner, a successful american vehicle. Suzuki is partly owned by GM, Jeep's competitor.

The vehicle is sold as Opel Agila in Europe and the US.
