nervousness, they seem to get lost in elaborate lies and don't always remember after a while. They are agitated or are playing with something like a piece of paper, earring, etc
They don't look into your eyes very often and tilt their head a lot and use their hands and sometimes a high voice to seem more convincing
Not all liars have the same "symptoms" but most of the have at some point one of the above.

The poor eye contact is my only clue.
I'm not a great judge of peoples truthfulness.
Well actually, sometimes you just get a feel for it too, especially if you know that person well.

if ur a linguist, you should know by the register or tone of voice he usues. usage of formality to express one's idea even for simple questions is indicative of pretentiousness.

Usually, a liar's sphincter puckers a lot - so check their sphincter and you can tell when they are lying!
