I am making a little book for my mom who is a recovering alcoholic and addict. I would like to put some words of wisdom, quotes and little sayings. All positive or in some way helpful. Any ideas???

God grant me the serenity, to accept the things I cannot change
Courage to change the things I can
And wisdom to know the difference

The serenity prayer is a good one, its used in almost every 12 step program!

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can; and
the wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time;
enjoying one moment at a time;
accepting hardship as the pathway to peace.
Taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it.
Trusting that He will make all things right, if I surrender to His will.
That I may be reasonably happy in this life,
and supremely happy with Him forever in the next.

the serenity prayer live life one day at a time cherish all your memories for every minute in life that you dont give in is a minute of peace it works if you work it the miracles are there if you work the steps be proud of yourself its the simple things that matter do it for you not for anyone else always try to help someone else be a good listener its okay to have the thought to drink or drug as long as you dont act upon it if we didnt have those thoughts we wouldnt be normal dont condemn others who have a problem it will work out in Gods time not ours congratulations tell your mom that i dont know her but i am proud of her she has taken a major step in her life and when times get hard or temptation comes knocking just be sure to have someone to talk to good luck and you are a good child for caring so much have a wonderful day

It's hard to see clean when you're dirty, but easy to see dirty when you're clean
