How about the time grading papers, prep time for classes, and continuing education requirements? Do you want that time included?

a teacher in elementary might teach 20 hours and grading 15 hours, and the rest of the time they are in meetings...same for middle. for high schooled they are at the school for 40 hours a week but i think they spend about 5 hours a week teaching and the rest of the time they are spending the time assigning home work for the students...maybe 10 hours grading
[the reason i say this is because i provide a home study center and all my students need help with the homework, they say the teacher did not explain how to do certain work, like math and how to write a 5000 word essay, they have no clue how to research or outline their essays.

Well, we are in school for 6:30 (taking out beginning and dismissal) , take away specials, lunch, and recess, so I'd say about 5:10 of teaching. So we'll say close to 26 hours a week of "teaching", but of course that doesn't take into account the grading, planning, etc...
