Anything over 8 hrs a day and 40 hours a week they have to pay you overtime and holiday they have to pay you time and a half just for working plus if you work more than 8 hours that day they have to pay you. Double time and a half. By the way it is against federal law for them to not pay you time and a half past forty hours in a week so you could be entitled to back pay! I hope that answers your question.

YES, if you work over 40 hours and you are paid HOURLY. If you are a salaried employee you DO NOT get paid overtime even if you worked 80 hrs!! Also if you are paid using some other formula, for example by the item, or piece work, etc. For example a long distance trucker usually gets paid by the mile .. they may drive more than 40 hours in a week..
Hope that helps..

yes if the employee is on the hourly wage, anything over 40 hours in the work week must be paid over time...if you are a salaried employed they do not have to pay for overtime...if your employer is not paying you correctly, contact your state labor board and they can assist you....

absolutely, anything over 8hrs a day is consider over time. if the company fails to track the employees overtime and pay it. the state of California will make the company back pay any over time if it was not paid to the employee. if you feel this is your case you should report it to labor commissioner so they can start an investigation on your company,
