They have new ones out now that do, But most of the older ones dont

Note 1:: I convert mine to VOB and then burn to DVD

You have to find one that advertises AVI or XVID or DIVX on the box. Those will play AVI's.
Of course if you have a DVD burner, and NERO, you can burn AVI files as an actual DVD that will play in virtually any dvd player.

not all of them. Only the DVD player that plays DivX can play .avi format.
