Beans contain large amounts of the complex sugar Raffinose (which causes gas). Smaller amounts are found in cabbage, brussels sprouts, broccoli, asparagus, other vegetables, and whole grains.
Gas is also caused by lactose (like milk and cheese), some fiber, and sorbitol, which is in fruit like apples and peaches.

What is it about cooking the stuff that makes it so volatile all the way to the rectum? I think a lot of starches get screwed up and turned into complex sugars, which in turn get "cooked" by the small intestines... Raw vegetable matter is mostly roughage, and passes through without all that fancy foaming up!!
Eat it raw!!

I don't eat broccoli, so i would not know.
I do know that onions make me fart like a roadhouse dog, however.....so those are things i try to avoid if i know i am going to be around open flames a few hours afterward.

So they say, but it really depends on the person. Personal when I'm out I don't eat corn on the cob. Anything else I think you can deal with.

How long does it take you to process food? If it takes you two hours to process it don't eat it. But I don't think you can process it that fast. Eat what you want.
