Hi, sweetie..you will get better with practice.
Check out this website forum--there are people to help you with any question and they are generally good parents practicing attachment parenting.
This phase in your child's life is the conflict between trust versus mistrust according to child psychologist Erik Erickson. If you come when baby calls and meet his/her needs for touch, food, drink, change of diaper, warmth, comfort, etc, and do it promptly and with love, the baby will learn to trust (you and eventually others)..if you do not successfully met thier needs in a timely way, they will learn to mistrust the world so your action are shaping your babies psyche.
Do check out the website..it is a good one and subscribe to mothering magazine or read at library..get some books, ask advice from relatives you trust, and ask specific questions on here. Generally you will get pretty good answers. Try to get some rest and not worry too much..

Where's Grandma? She can help with anything and everything! Honestly though...you should have been reading books for at least the 9 months you were pregnant!
But maybe these links will help:
pediatrics.about.com/od/newmoms/
babies.sutterhealth.org/afterthebirth/newmom/
www.yourbabytoday.com/keepkidshealthy/newbaby/index.html
Good luck and congratulations! I have heard that most things come to you by instinct...but some of us don't do all that great that way either. If you have any specific questions ie:diapering, colic, bottle feeding vs. breast feeding etc. Email me and I will do my best to help you!

Hi...I saw your question and felt my heart drop...you must be scared...how old are you?...first of all if you are a new mom...just hold, feed and love your baby...feed it as it wants to eat and keep him or her clean...and make sure you eat and sleep when the baby sleeps...i repeat...sleep when the baby sleeps...if you are a new new mother...your body will be going crazy on you...let your hormones get back on track...if you get really sad...see a dr., health nurse just see someone if you have no family....you are not alone...

Take care of your baby. Nurse he/she when crying. Check and change diapers. Swaddle with a blanket. Rock, walk , soothe with quiet wispers and songs. Pat the back. Just love your baby and do all the things it needs but cannot do for itself yet. Enjoy it!

Do what you feel is natural and love your baby. He/She needs you for everything and nothing is excluded. Don't be confused yet you are already ahead of the game you are not afraid to ask for help

don't panic - none of us really know what we're doing! Don't be afraid to ask questions of other mums - for all you know they have the same question!
