I know a man (both in the intimate and every-day sense) who thinks that he can tell by looking at another man if that man is hetero or homosexual. Can you tell by their dress, hairstyle, manner of speech, etc? Is this a man thing? A man may look completely average to me and this man insits that he can tell. He has taken a class on homophobia for his field of work substance abuse counseling), but I dont think that qualifies him, although there was a majority of the course population was homosexual.

No you can't typecaste anybody by their looks or behaviour even though it is assumed that gay people are supposed to be pansily dressed, behave sissy and talk in a very girly manner etc. even many straight men sometimes appear little girly, but may have no tendency for men and infact get married and settle down with kids. some men behave a little girly innocently and are not even aware they cud be typecaste.

Well it depends on the person. you can tell when you watch them closely interacting with diff people. Some can fool you but they can't fool for long. It is easy to tell by the way the look at other men and the way they talk to them. Here is something you can do when your guy tells you that someone is gay and you can watch them for a min do it you would be surprised

No he can't tell. If a person is extremely flamboyant, then anyone can tell, but I think that alot of people assume.There are some really "manly" guys (they are called Bears) that are gay and no one ever suspects because they don't fit the "gay stereotype". Some people think that meterosexual guys are gay, but that is just a stereotype that straight guys have to put up with if they care about their grooming habits. So, no he can't tell for sure.

I find that the eyes as well as subtle things such as a smile can tell me if someone is possibly gay especially those that no one would suspect in a million years.Then there are those that are obvious.

You can probably see the more obvious ones, but most may just look or act like a heterosexual in most situations.

Sometimes its in the eye contact, but didn't you see that Southpark episode where all the guys were all metrosexual. You can't tell these days.

I can usually tell, especially when it comes to homosexual men, by many ways , it can also be seen in their eyes.

i can defianely tell instantly. A gay man stands different, talks different, hand gestures differently, dresses. It is VERY VERY easy to tell. no class needed.

sometimes you can tell... and sometimes you can't.... for example Elton John.... bet you couldn't guess that one lol! But then people like Vin Disle hes gay you would never guest that
