Sexist pig. Actually, since germs float into the air every time you flush, it's generally a good idea to close both the seat and the lid before you do so. It's also a good compromise, because both men and women have to exert some energy to use the toilet. And no, most women really aren't that lazy or unattentive. I think that just applies to the ones you hang out with.

I always look...was raised in a large household and it is simply that way for me. half male and half female...so it makes sense to do it. Also from the standpoint of hygiene it is better men or women to close the seat upon flushing. how many people think about that? it is the truth....though do as you please. i am not getting into an argument here. I think the worst part of it is finding something to complain about...complaining solves nothing.....and the tone of your voice comes back to haunt you in many ways....especially in the ways of others speaking to you and treating you the same way you treat them....be gentle about expressing your wishes to have the seat up or down...and there really shouldn't be a problem.....and this, if you are soft in your speech, not a doormat, you accomplish a heck of a lot more ...and that is seat up or down.
I find ti a very thoughtful thing to find the seat down...yes, i look and it doesn't bother me. I just make sure that i bleach the darn thing daily. Truth!

Good grief...I just can not figure out why this is such a big mystery in life. Do you leave the lid off the peanut butter in the cabinet? Do you leave the lid off the milk in the refrigerator? Do you leave the lid off the quart of oil in the storage building? Do you leave the lid off the toothpaste? The toilet has a lid. Close it. Very simple.

NO!! not at all. I check the seat at all times, I want to make sure I'm not sitting in someone elses something or other. I'm a little obsessive about toilet seats though....
