Also the highest rate per capita of imprisoned citizenry of any nation on the planet -- of which an estimated 60% may well be innocent -- and a plethora of political prisoners of which Guantanamo Bay is but tip of the iceberg.
"Due process", "freedom of association", "presumption of innocence", "right to swift, fair, unbiased trial by peers", "no illegal detention", "Miranda rights" , "no cruel or unusual punishment (torture)", "no extra-territoriality/sovereignty application of law", -- shall I go on? -- are all sacred precepts of the U.S's Constitution/ Bill of Rights being blatantly ignored by the current administration at 'Gitmo' Bay. As the the "War on Terror" and Iraq invasion was declared in violation of United Nations rules of war and sanction the Bush administration is technically one of War Criminals but who will never be prosecuted because of general populace indifference (it's not happening them!), Political amorality (turning of blind eyes) and successfull propaganda spin doctoring of known facts.
And Americans wonder why they're hated when they arrogantly impose their will abroad whilst hypocritically ignoring their own values at home?
