My periods are very irregular. Like, the first year I had my period it happened like 5 times out of that whole year. The second year I thought it was going to regulate because it was normal for like the first 4 months. This year I haven't had my period since I don't know when (honestly). I know I'm not pregnant because I've never had sex before. I know that taking birth control might regulate my period, but I'm afraid of what others might say if they find out that I was taking birth control because I'm only 13.
I don't know what to do!!!!!!

I am enjoying not having my period. . . trust me. It's just that I found it kinda weird to not have had my period for the past 7 months. I know that they are supposed to be irregular for the first couple of years but it's my third year and it's acting kinda weird.
Thanx for the help!

Guess What! I was having bad stomach cramps so I went to use the bathroom and. . . I started my period just now. I guess I was just exaggerating.
Thanx for the help though!

Younger girls have irregular periods for awhile sometimes. Also, if you're athletic that will affect your cycle. If you're not having sex, then why worry about having a regular cycle? Believe me, honey, the fewer periods in your lifetime, the better! :) When in doubt, see your dr or talk to a parent. Good luck.

I would say that yes, birth control pills can regulate your periods. However, this is something you really need to discuss with maybe your mother and a doctor. The doctor may need to do an exam as well as get your medical history to futher evaluate the situation and find out what should be done next.

If your period is painful as well as irregular, then you should see a gynecologist. Most girls aren't regular their first few years of menstruation, so it's not too much to be worried about. You should also not worry about what other people think. If being on the pill helps you, you should take it.

People have different views on birth control, but it shouldnt really matter what they think. If you want your period to be regular, then you should take it. You should start yourself on a low hormone pill, and see if you like it. And if you don't like the side effects, you can always stop taking it.

Some low hormone pills: Ortho tri-cyclen Lo
Sesonale

Hope this helps, good luck!

A lot of people take birth control to regulate periods. If you decide to take it, it isn't something anyone else would even find out unless you told them (except your parents) but they would understand why. I would recommend talking to a doctor about it though.

dont worry about what other people say, if thats what you want..
then do it. and, when you do start having sex..you will want to be on it.

but i would wait, until you start having sex. because birth can give you some "period difficulties." too.

soo, i would just enjoy the "long breaks" while you can.

take the pill! don't tell the otheres you are taking it, or if you want you don;t have to do any thing, it will straighten out on its own, but the pill will regulate it if that is what you want

talk to your mother. if you have nothing to hide, then no problem. explain to her your concerns and ask her to schedule a dotor's appointment. you sound very well spoken for such a young girl, i'm sure she'll help you out. let your mother be there for you... talk to her.
