Basically an inkjet printer spits ink onto the page in very very small ammounts.

This link will tell you EVERYTHING you need to know in detail, but it is easy to read.

If you are new to computers though, don't worry how the printer works. It is more important for you to learn how your operating system works correctly, then move on from there. Grasp the basics and you can see how things are inter related.

you need to be more specific as to whether you wish to know the mechanical aspects, how the piezo or thermal heads work, or if you simply want to know how to operate and use it
If you want to know how to use it, a course on how the ink is spit onto the page either by sound waves or by heating the ink would be useless to you.
