Because they have never known Freedom.... when people can remember how good Democracy was - they will do anything to get it back on track.

How could Asians and Islamic folks ever know that it is worth being shot down for?

Think about the college protests in the USA during the Viet Nam war.... the police were actually shooting at unarmed college students for participating in sit ins to protest the war.... that happens in free nations because we still have the taste of freedom in our mouths and we will be shot at just to make the point that we are against war.... and that is worth dying for.

A person who has never had a taste of freedom would think it is better to stay out of harms way and just suffer the oppression.

The so-called democratic revolutions in the west did not provide true democracy. Under the United States constitution only white men who are not servants could vote. It took a long time before women and non-whites to gain the right to vote.
Under the USA constitution slavery was legal.
Under the USA constitution people could not directly vote for President or USA Senate.
Under the USA constitution the President could not purchase land from other counties.
Under the USA constitution a HUMAN SLAVE did not count in our population as an entire person, he was 3/5 of a man.
The list goes on and on...
We in the United States continue to change and evolve into a true democracy. We are not a true democracy as long as we can not vote directly for president.
The democratic revolution is still going on. It is not over yet. So to answer your question we have not yet gone through a true democratic revolution. The monarchy was removed, but that does not mean citizens of the USA are truely free.
At least in Iran you can vote for the present in a direct election.

Serfdom slavery and opression of the poor
As it always is, noone wants to be told when to crap or not.

Asia and Islam aren't as oppresive and keep their lower classes uneducated, working towards a common goal.
We are more humanistic in Europe and ameica working for our own goals.

A desire to have unalienable rights under God in the west. They were no such comparable models for Asian countries or Islamic countries until the 20th century.
