He's not trying. He's just a dumb, warhawk, ex-alcoholic/drug addict, born again Christian who isn't knowledgable about history or world politics so all the people he appoints and everything he does keeps pushing us in that direction.
How he wound up or was reelected president is still a mystery to me, and a real indication of how intellectually bankrupt the majority of people in this country are.

I wouldn't put it past our president. Had he focused on finding & eliminating the Taliban & Osama Bin Laden we would probably have been successful, particularly with the support of most of the world. As far as the war in Iraq is concerned, I believe that we were deliberately misled. I think it is an unjust war. It has ruined our reputation with those who were our allies, killed way too many people on both sides and greatly increased Islamic hatred against us resulting in an increase in terrorism. If it weren't for our armed forces being stretched so thin, I wouldn't doubt for a minute he would start another war. Don't forget - he said he wanted to be known as a "war President." I wouldn't put it past him to bring the Selective Service back from the past & begin calling up our young men (and women?) to serve whether they want to or not.

George Bush, much as I hate the man, is doing what he thinks is best to try to save America. He sees Islamic militants as the key threat to the United States and thinks that they way to stop them is to bring American-style democracy to them, at the end of a gun barrel.
George is totally WRONG, of course, but he proceeds from false assumptions and thereforce acts incorrectly. He may, in fact, start World War III, but that is not his intent.

Bush did not start WW3....
WW3 started on Sept 11, 2001....
It was started by the Islamofaschist nations..
Bush is trying to limit the war to fighting "over there"...
Liberal Dems want to fight the war "over here"...
How about starting it up in your town if we move it over here ?

Just wait... they called Reagan crazy for Star Wars and voodoo economics....now they hail him a genius for dropping our taxes and strengthening the economy and for bankrupting the Communist Block.
I'll bet 20 years later we'll look back and we'll understand how Bush benefited USA.

WWIII was the cold war. We won.
WW IV is what we are involved in now, with the terrorists.
If it goes nuclear with the other former superpowers, its WW V (world war 5)
You gotta get it right if you are spreading propaganda.
