What are some SPECIFIC ideas and policies to help cure the health care crisis. I dont want any half -a** answers like "we have to have tell the parents do this or that" or "we have to exercise more".

I want SPECIFIC GOVERNMENT POLICIES and ideas that would help solve it!
My idea would be to tax junk foods just like we tax cigs and ALCOHOL. thIS WOULD NOT ONLY DECREASE THEIR CONSUMPTION IT WOULD INCREASE REVENUE to help pay for trhe exploding health care crisis in the US largely caused by the explosion in diabetes of the obese.
Remember, no half-answers. I want SOLID IDEAS!

Allow people to deduct premiums for Long Term Care insurance from federal and state taxes. This would be an incentive for them to actually purchase care policies and stop taking advantage / stealing from the Medicaid system. (there is a slew of documented violations so I won't get into this scandal) The benefit for the governments would be a huge financial savings: if an annual deduction is even $500 per person for 30 years, that is much less than the annual cost of medical/medicaid nursing home care which is estimated to be about $60.000-$100,000 per year with an average of three years of care. ($15,000 vs. $180,000 to $300,000). Obviously, the insurance companies would love this plan too and it is quite apparent that they will block any legislation if it doesn't directly benefit them.

National Health would help. We are one of the few remaining countries who don't have it.
Yes it would have to come from taxes somehow-I hope it would be a fair way so everyone contributes and not just some.
I hear some other countries complain about some things about it---but they don't seem to want to give that benefit up at all.
I believe this is a basic necessity for many. And many can not afford it now.
