you are really dumb megan whoo whoo, or whatever...children dont just live on love either..they need things like food and clothes and not be teased in school because there clothes are all the wrong size and hand-me-downs...you think kids dont realize really soon that they are poor? they are not that clueless.

whats wrong with being judgemental? everyone judges everyone else.

I've violated a doctrine of my own church by regularly using birth control. However, I know that I absolutely don't want kids, and I'm not going to take chances on leaving it up to fate. I feel that overpopulation is a serious problem, and I'm not content to just idly talk about it; I'd rather take direct action. But many people refuse to defy the Church on this point, and thus end up with unwanted kids, which is seriously unfair to the children in question. Also, people walk around with the strange notion that you HAVE to have kids, and it's just something you're expected to do upon hitting adulthood. Women are particularly pressured to have children, whether they want to or not, and some just cave in to societal expectations.

People who can't afford children or do not use birth control probably have them because of their religious faith. Their faith teaches them not to prevent babies coming into the world. At the same time all men and women have a obligation a duty to do what is best for the whole world, for their own little family, for the health of the child that is to be born. None of us can be the judge and jury. It's up to each couple to decide what is best for them and for the rest of us on the planet. The water, food and everything we use each day might not always be available like it is today so I feel we all must consider this when planning our family size.

Its all about education. -- I met a man in an airport one time who was coming from Africa. He was a doctor who had worked at clinics in different villages treating various things--mainly AIDS.

Can you believe that many of them believe that if you have AIDS, and have sex with a virgin, then it "cleanses" you? ... They don't understand how AIDS is transmitted either. -- Same with pregnancy.

You think that it wouldn't be hard to figure out, but if no one told you, then you'd never know either. -- Don't be so judgemental until you've experienced more yourself.

There are so many people (mainly under priviledged people) who are never taught about BC or abstinance or anything, and its an absolute shame. But kids don't need money, they need love. Even if you can't support your child very well, they can still be loved and that's the most important thing you can give a child.

Ignorance is Obsolete only when Knowledge is Obtained through Righteous ways

Even though they can't afford to have a kid some people still feel that it's the right time unless of course your like 85% of females in this country and your just a bonnafide slut bag

When you said they cant afford children i had the hunch that your talking about not so rich people. It is kind of weird why rich people cant have too many children and poor people cant just have one. It's all about education. i think the poor people dont know about the birth control much or their benefits or they just herd about condom. The rich people who were taught properly about everything probably understands more. But I wish people would just wait untill they can work to have sex, it's not the end of the world if you dont have sex now!

why do so many rich that can afford to have kids, pass them on to nannys and baby sitters rather than raise them?

dont get me wrong i agree with you, but it goes both ways, if you dont want children, cant afford children, and have no intention of being a good parent then dont have the children.

Chances are, they either A) can't afford the protection needed, B)need the money that a young kid would bring into the home--a.k.a. food stamps, medical card, WIC, etc, or C) all the above.

AMEN to that.

Seriously.

But if they are Catholic it could be because of their religious beliefs, especially Hispanics.

I know a Hispanic woman who is in poverty yet has 8 children and is pregnant with another. It's really not fair to the children.

I know what you mean, and especially since you can get birth control at no cost if you can't afford it.

Birth control is not 100% effective...it's still possible to get pregnant when using it.
