i have to write a COMPARE AND CONTRAST essay on Religion back in the 17th century (the crucible) vs. Religion in the 21st century (now)
i need a SPECIFIC topic though, basically the thesis.
Like religious issues, then vs. now
but i want something different.
i figured SOMEONE out there must have done this already and could help me out.

I have read the crucible last year and I do remember comparing them but I am not sure wha I used as my thesis statement.
There were many differences in the way society functioned in the 17th century compared to how they function now in the 20th century.

here are some ideas for you (just remember, you have to make this into a nice sentence -- i'm providing the brainstorming for you!):
crucible = superstitious, strict, very prominent religion at time
now = realistic, much less rigid, not as popular
