No. The term twin is typically used only when referring to animals who are mammalian and produce one offspring per cycle of gestation. With regard to the first person to answer the question, if the twins come from the same ovum (monozygotic) they are identical, not fraternal. When two ova (dizygotic) are fertilized and carried to term simultaneously, then they are considered fraternal. Note that for some animals that produce litters, monozygotic litter-mates would be considered identical twins.

Fraternal twins are from two seprate eggs. All dogs are faternal twins.
