and why do they always have an excuse for it? Isnt there a difference between being thrifty and being a tightwad?

If it affects someone else it makes you a tightwad. If it only affects you then it makes you thrifty. Like cutting coupons to save money affects only you so that makes you thrifty but if you need to leave the waiter/waitress a nice tip and you don't, that affects them so that makes you a tightwad.

it just depends how much money you have to live some people have to budget and have little left over after bills I would love to have 3 meals a day and snacks inbetween but I have to feed my kids first and have gas to drive to work and a roof over their heads .So being a tight wade is not always a choice you want to make but need to.
