I have trouble getting to sleep because of nightly nasal drainage during the cold months in Pennsylvania. Is a nightly dose of Nyquil dangerous?

I think that on the bottle it suggests that usage over three consecutive days is long term and potentially habit forming. Have you ever tried breathe right strips like the ones NFL players use during outdoor winter games? That could possibly be a safer alternative. Another thing to keep in mind is that when you continuously use a medication, you build up a tolerance for the active ingredients, making it less effective when you become ill. Hope this helps out some.

Doesn't it say on the back of the bottle to consult a physician if symptoms last for more than so many days?

Your not supposed to take nyquil for more than 7 days without consulting your doctor. I think they would probably give you a prescription for your congestion or sinus problem.
